What Happened To The People Pictured In The World’s Most Iconic Photographs?

David Tree, 2009

In 2009, the Delburn Complex fire had been burning for four dramatic days, and firefighters rushed to the area to help extinguish the fire. Many claimed it was a criminal act, and later, several attorneys investigated the case. During that day, David Tree battled with the raging fire, until he saw a koala, named Sam by the locals. The koala was extremely dehydrated due to the smoke and flames in the area, and Tree, in an admirable act, shared his bottle of water with the parched animal. The was then featured in the Victoria Museum in Melbourne, and Sam will be remembered forever, as he passed away a couple of years ago.
