In an interview with People, Mariska Hargitay stated that she lost her mother at a young age and was raised by her stepmom with her half-siblings. The experience was enjoyable, so she knew that family could be built in many ways. After marrying her co-star Peter Hermann in 2004, she gave birth to their only biological son in 2006.

Amaya Josephine Hermann is one of the two adopted children and was born on April 7, 2011, in the presence of the star couple. Amaya is considered among the most famous star kids, and we regularly see her with her family enjoying different occasions like Mother’s Day.
