With Baby at Hand, Father Goes to the Rescue at Daughter’s Ballerina Performance

In an incredible turn of events, a burly father-of-three managed to step on the ballet stage and bust a couple of moves, while holding his daughter’s hand. This was right after the daughter had suffered stage fright during the performance.

Video footage clearly shows the father, Marc Daniels rush to the stage to aid the youngster during the dance at the Hamilton City Hall in Bermuda on May 29. Notably, this was during a dress rehearsal for her first ever dance recital

The superhero father, a self-employed barrister, is seen pirouetting and elegantly balancing on one leg next to his two-year-old daughter, Bella, as teachers and parents watched in amusement giggling. Unbelievably, he managed to pull off the smooth moves all while holding his youngest daughter Suri under one of his arms.

Mr. Daniels was forced to the rescue after he was summed to the wings to help Bella calm down right after she had started sobbing uncontrollably, before stepping off the stage. Daniels shared that Bella had become super emotional and all she needed was hugs from her daddy.

He went on to say that: “Despite having a tantrum, I can tell she wanted to stay on stage and I didn’t want to discourage her before the big performance by making her be the only one to come off. I walked on holding Suri and stood next to her, trying to help build her confidence – I told her I loved her and that she’s an amazing dancer. I asked if she wanted to dance with daddy and she nodded, so I thought I’d join in.”

Daniels amazed many by busting flawless Ballet moves despite being accustomed to the courtroom

Once In Motion School of Dance posted the video from the event on Facebook, the post quickly went viral with more than 400,000 views. Some attribute the reason the video went viral was that people kept commenting and sharing about how determined Mr. Daniels seemed to be, despite already having one baby in tow. The video shows Daniels waiting in the wings before he decided to jump onto the main stage once he realized the situation was not getting any better.

Mr. Daniels mentioned that having practiced with them at home on so many occasions, he was quite familiar with the dance routine. That helped explain how he was able to pull off those amazing moves with relative ease and elegance. He spun in circles and pointed at his toes like a professional, almost akin to how a  member of the In Motion School of Dance would.

Following his showcase, he divulged that members at his place of work, jurors, police officers and members of the prosecution have constantly been giving him twirls and plies as a sign of appreciation for blessing them with the video. Incredibly, he shared that most recently, during a court session, one of the magistrates made a sly comment about his dance moves that sent the whole courtroom in stitches.

Out of the Ordinary

In England and Wales, barristers are considered specialists in advocacy and usually represent individuals or organizations in court sessions. Most people consider them as independent sources of legal advice who can advise clients on their cases. Typically, their services are sought after by solicitors to represent a particular case in court and handle all matters whenever advocacy is necessary.

Interestingly, Mr. Daniels has shared that he isn’t ruling a career change, stepping out the courtrooms into the dance arena. He said, “Before having the girls I don’t think I’d ever attempted any ballet moves before, but now everyone in Bermuda knows me for my toe-pointing.”
