Nehemiah Persoff – An American Tail

The world lost a talented character actor and painter in April 2022. Nehemiah Persoff, who lived for over a century, enjoyed an acting career of more than five decades. He is known for his roles in the ’50s movies “The Harder They Fall” and “Some Like It Hot,” and also in the ’80s movies “Yenti” and the “An American Tail” franchise.

After he retired from acting in 2003, Persoff began painting and specialized in using watercolors. And after an incredible life of military service, acting success, and painting, he crowned it all in 2021 when he published his memoir “The Many Faces of Nehemiah.”
