This Model’s Brainchild is Now an Eight-Figure Company – That’s Because of These Jaw-Dropping Secrets
You always hear about successful entrepreneurs saying putting up your own business from scratch is hard. This is in no way an exaggeration, rather it is the summary of the intricacies of the process. A testament to this is Alexandra Cristin, a plus-size model who is also the mastermind behind Glam Seamless, a brand that’s been reigning supreme in the beauty industry for its hair extensions.
Standing Out
Just like Kylie Jenner, the 32-year-old’s business stemmed from her passion. In 2012, Alexandra was just doing what most kids would do nowadays – watching a YouTuber. But that’s also the time when an idea struck her: why not sell hair extensions?
After all, she had been donning one since she was a teen and it would make sense if she would make money out of it. However, at the time, her products weren’t actually a discovery. What set her apart from the already competitive market was her desire to be different.
What made Glam Seamless unique is the type of hair extensions it sells, products that last for a long time and would smoothly blend with a customer’s natural hair. This was what pushed her to the top of the game, and now, the company is worth eight figures and has more than 100 colors of locks in its portfolio.
The success is surely admirable, but as with any business, the model is not denying the difficulty when she was just starting. If you are just new to this, here are her words to live by:
Keep Going
You will constantly get a lot of “no’s” during your brand’s early days and that is normal. Alexandra advises to never take “no” for a response, instead, find a way. If there’s a will, there’s a way, they said, and it’s no use to stop during the early stage because there would always be another option.
She also admits that she had been pestered by self-doubt, especially when sales didn’t immediately reach her target. It’s really hard to keep going when you feel discouraged but she suggests re-evaluating and finding new methods to try.
Build the Dream Team
Alexandra also sees the importance of hiring the right people from the get-go. For her, it was especially tedious since she founded the brand on her own, but she knew that those who will join her on this journey will greatly help in the success of the business. Although training employees may sound insignificant because you need to focus on sales figures, a dream team can ultimately aid in realizing your vision.
Use Social Media
Really, who doesn’t have a social media account nowadays? Almost, if not, everybody has an account on Facebook or Instagram, which is why you need to take advantage of it. Businesses reach out to their customers online, which is cheaper than the traditional advertisement.
Alexandra underlined the importance of creating unique and engaging content that could create a community of clients. Plus, it will be easier for you to manage inquiries and orders online.
