Finally! 13 Reasons Why Premier Date set for May 18th

It’s high time TV enthusiasts returned to the highs and lows of Liberty High.

For over year, fans have waited with baited breathe for the second installation of Netflix’s highly popular series, 13 Reasons Why. For fans whose memories turned a little foggy, the story introduced the enigma that was Hannah Baker (played by the incomparable Katherine Langford), and her twisted classmates at Liberty High.

Fans of 13 Reasons Why are now buzzing as the popular drama thriller is to be released on May 18

An addictive affair

Fortunately (or unfortunately) the story gave us a window to the heart-breaking (and overly depressing) outcome. What really kept audiences on their seat is the slow build-up to the inevitable end; with no idea when it would take place or how it would hit us! But for now, audiences have still been kept in the dark. However, Season 2 is poised to change everything.

The New Approach

Recently, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for the second season, giving an insight into all the upcoming drama and deceit that had made the first season a thrilling adventure one could hardly miss. Created by the drama virtuoso Brian Yorkey, and produced by the brilliant Selena Gomez, fans are expecting the subtle particulars and mysteries that made Season 1 addictive to be carried onto Season 2.

Fans have waited for over a year now, but they are finally set to enjoy the thrills of Liberty High, with new themes to be center-staged

Of note in the trailer is that it revealed the premiere date, as well as some key events and details Clay Jensen’s (played by Dylan Minette) role in the aftermath of Hannah Baker’s suicide.

Creative but Relative

So, what does Season 2 bring to the creative aspect? Initially, Season 1 focused on the tapes. However, season two, expected to kick-off on May 18, will turn its attention on another form of retro-style media; ladies and gentlemen, the Polaroid.

As characters continue their rather complex journeys to self-amelioration and recovery, Liberty High, on the other hand, is poised to go to trial. During its preparation, however, it appears that someone is pulling the strings and doing everything in their power to conceal the truth about Hannah’s death.

Enter the Polaroids

As hinted in the teaser trailer, there will be a series of threatening Polaroids that will be delivered to Clay, as well as his classmates, setting them on the path to discovering just what happened to Hannah Baker. Will it be a covered up conspiracy or the revelation of a sickening secret? Uh oh. Fans will have to wait and see.

Netflix resources

In response to all the hype for the upcoming season, Netfilx has taken the liberty to add new resources to 13ReasonsWhy.info. The website was created in response to all the controversy surrounding the first season regarding its intense themes focusing on teenagers.

Moreover, the company has included both a New Discussion Guide and a new Discussion Section consisting of videos where the cast tackles a myriad of issues regarding major points in the series; such as intimate assault, bullying, as well as abuse. The Website also encourages people that know any teens requiring emotional support to get in touch with the website.

Netflix has invested a ton in ensuring that fans of the show comprehend the complexities of the themes being shown by increasing the web resources of the show

Touching on sensitive subject matters

Kate Walsh, who plays the role of Hannah Baker, was excited about the premiere of the new season and in a press statement, relayed how it will deal with other important issues such as assault, responsibility, as well as accountability.

In a nutshell, the new season is poised to be addictive, breathtaking, and a game-changer for Netflix.
